Can I Use Play Yard Instead Of Crib

We have both but my daughter prefers the crib.
Can i use play yard instead of crib. Pack n play playards are intended for naps and play time but are not intended to replace a crib. My parents ended up buying a crib for ds for their house ikea it s great and was only 79. A pack and play should not be used for a crib. Here is one more reason why you can use a playpen instead of a crib.
Therefore just like beds they are not meant to be disassembled and reassembled easily. We have both the play yard was a gift but my son has always slept better in the crib. We have a two story home and we keep the bassinet in our room for the first 3 months or so a crib upstairs in the nursery for naps if i m playing upstairs with my older kids and for sleeping after the first few months and the play yard downstairs in the living room. Having said that i know lots of people who have used a play yard instead of a crib and baby is just fine.
I think it depends on the baby as well. Never used the play yard at home only for travel at grandma s etc. Cribs are designed to be small beds. Do not add extra mattresses or soft bedding.
It was convenient but the mattress doesn t seem quite as comfortable as a crib mattress. While a play yard does have support a mattress in a crib is made specifically for long term daily use. Might be an option if you don t want to shell out a lot of cash on a crib. She can t seem to stand the play pen for long but my friend s baby plays and sleeps in the play yard.
